Whether you’re a fan of the movies or a fan of the stars – there’s one thing every woman loves about award season.

The dresses!!!

Sunday night was the kick-off for this year’s award season with the stars of Hollywood braving some cooler than normal temperatures to walk the red carpet, address the press and accept some highly coveted awards in a tight Hollywood race.

As always, they did it flawlessly in fabulous designer fashion!

Here’s a look at this year’s Golden Globes fashion trends and some of our personal favorites from the red carpet – including some of our #BoPo favourites!

The Ladies in Red

Jennifer Lawrence

Red was definitely in this year and the twenty-two year old Silver Linings Playbook star (and #BoPo favourite) rocked a coral red in every way possible on Sunday night’s red carpet. Despite being under the weather, Jennifer was in high spirits looking like Hollywood royalty in her haute couture gown by Dior. The most talked about dress on social media that night – she was also a winner in the Hollywood Foreign Press’s eyes as she took home the award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical.

Claire Danes

This new mother (can you believe she just had a baby three weeks earlier?) and Homeland star was another Hollywood beauty to own the sexy red dress on the carpet Sunday. The Versace dress, designed to give a wrap effect, complimented her post-pregnancy body beautifully by highlighting her lovely hourglass shape while the plunging neckline gave it a sexy touch!

Zooey Deschanel

The New Girl star turned heads in the Oscar de la Renta princess gown on the carpet and landed on a handful of best dressed lists for the night. Accessorized with a simple set of pearls to compliment the fitted bodice of the dress – the actress got an equal amount of attention for her event-inspired filmstrip nail art!

Black and White

Anne Hathaway

Anne had quite the year in 2012 marrying husband Adam Shulman and starring as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises and the timeless Fantine in Les Miserables. Dawning a beautiful white, crystal encrusted designer gown by Chanel, Anne and her coveted pixie cut kept things simple and elegant with tasteful jewelry and later in the evening – her own Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical.

Adele

Another new mother looked amazing on the carpet Sunday, Grammy award winner and now Golden Globe winner – Adele! Dressed in Burberry, this #BoPo favorite enjoyed every minute of her golden victory taking home the award for Best Original Song for Skyfall.  When asked in the press room if she would ever consider playing a Bond girl, the twenty-four year old actress merely laughed but we have to say – we’d love to see Bond Girl Adele!

Julianne Moore

Dressed in a long sleeved Tom Ford design – perfect for a cool California night – the Oscar nominated actress up for Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie for her portrayal of Sarah Palin in Game Change looked elegant as always in black and white on the red carpet.

Old Hollywood Glam

Tina Fey

Lace and sparkle were a definite winner on this year’s red carpet, with host Tina Fey turning heads as she walked out on stage in a sparkly, cyan gown to kick the show off. Have we mentioned that Tina and Amy Poehler should just host everything together moving forward?

Kerry Washington

This Django Unchained star is always a knockout on the red carpet and her Miu Miu dress at the Globes was no exception. Looking very old-Hollywood glam with enough sheer tulle overlay to create a sexy peek-a-boo effect – Kerry was a definite stunner.

Amy Adams and Jessica Alba

These ladies rocked the mermaid style dress in pales and peaches with beautiful old Hollywood curls pinned up and down.

Amy wowed in Marchesa and Jessica looked flawless in Oscar de la Renta with a sparkly over-sized diamond necklace compliments of Harry Winston.

What do you think? Do you agree with our favourites? Are we missing yours? We’d love to hear who you think owned the carpet this year and what dress you would love to own yourself!
